This bag was crocheted by Inga artisan Doña Maria Jacanamijoy. She was the first to capture the designs of the traditional chumbe (belt) in the form of a bag. The technique of making this bag is tapestry crochet, similar to the Wayuu. A large bag takes about a month to complete. Each mochila is one of a kind.
